Who are these guys?
Who are Mo Bro’s Grooming Co.? Only the biggest and best beard grooming company in the whole of the UK, possibly even the world. Am I biased? Absolutely. But the Bro’s are realer than Real-Deal Holyfield.
From three brothers with £750 investment to over 300,000 customers (and counting) in 78 different countries (and counting) in less than four years. You’ll find their products in Next, MoonPig, MenKind, Debenhams and a whole host of airline catalogues. They’ve been featured all over national media and bagged the biggest investment of the series on Dragon’s Den. Their products were even in Paddington 2.
If you have facial hair, you should use Mo Bro’s products. If you don’t, make an effort to grow some and use Mo Bro’s products.
What did they want?
Mo Bro’s are going places in a hurry and needed a copywriter to help with their Virgin Media Business VOOM 2018 competition pitch, as well as some beard-related blogging. All the better if that copywriter had a beard.
The guys looked around on LinkedIn for a suitable candidate and guess who’s bearded face showed up?
I knew this beard of mine would come in useful one day.
What I did
Messages and emails were exchanged and phone calls were had before I got down to the business of creating a Virgin VOOM pitch that would secure enough votes to get the Mo Bro’s in front of Richard Branson. The pitch needed to get across the brand’s story, the company's successes and their future plans, as well as why Mo Bro’s were taking part in VOOM.
And it worked.
In less than a week (the competition had been running for months) Mo Bro’s secured enough votes to make it through to the final, walking away with a PayPal Mentorship Award and a selfie with Dickie B himself.
Here’s the pitch if you’d like to read it: Mo Bro's | The Brotherhood of Grooming
The Mo Bro’s/bearded copywriter from That. Content. Shed. combo is an ongoing one, which means there may well be more information to add here. I’ll keep you posted.
